IBM approached Spinifex with a challenging problem of how to explain the complex system that is the Quantum computer to the normal everyday people while not revealing all of its proprietary hardware and software. The solution was an interactive site where users scroll through the site which controls the playback of a 3d video highlighting different interior and exterior elements that make up the computer. Through this journey the workingsing and concepts that make up quantu, computing is explained in a simple and easy way.

Design Evelution
With the story and visuals playing such a large role in the overall explanation of how the computer worked we wanted to show those visuals as the main backdrop to the entire experience. Using a minimal UI, on-scroll video playback and bold, simple to the point headlines and textual content we were able to bring the viewer on a 3D journey through the entire system.

3D Evelution
The biggest thing to tackle was taking this very cold, very machined object and making it feel warm, inviting and approachable. We achieved this through the way we handled the lighting and grading of the 3d video, by using warm tones, gold and brass materials which were created based on photo and video reference from the actual computer.
